Productive weekend & start something new

Tomorrow I'll post my plans for the month. Need to make some changes and have started small. Went whole week without coca-cola, though did indulge in 1 this weekend. However I finally made it back to the gym! Accomplished my goals for the day, cleaned up a room, went to gym, took out trash and trip to store (target!).

Starting another decluttering project which should help. Will be heading to Baltimore next weekend for Uncle's funeral. Be great to see family, sister is making trip also, plus haven't seen Aunt E for at least 2 years.

It's been an odd day, very hot, then some weird storms, welcome summer!

not a day goes by

Found out yesterday that I didn’t get the job. Very disappointed, yet I did all I could do. Other candidate had different experience. Feedback from HR was all positive from my interviews which were a great experience. Least I’m out there and reconnected with folks. Plus day in Chicago was great, had good time with folks plus former intern.

Now I just keep plugging away, trying to find motivation to complete my existing projects. And looking, cause not a day goes by where I don’t find a reason to leave my existing team. Except I enjoy being able to pay some bills. Just past point of complaining though will still need to vent. Least now I can work on summer plans. Things have been on hold until this sorted out. So no moving for now, this was just too easy. Group may eventually expand, yet I won’t wait, just keep looking and possibly go outside the firm.

Trying to give up the soda again, or at least coca-cola. Need more energy and to lose weight so baby steps. Made it through yesterday and today and just keep trying.

Waiting and letting go

So, made my trip to Florida for Aunt V's funeral. Good time with the family and very hot weather, however no oil spill damage yet. (Don't want to get started on that shit!)

Back at work, went to Chicago for day trip for 4 interviews. Really good experience and I think I did alright. There are 2 other candidates who may be geniuses for all I know. However felt good to get out there and meet with some senior people which was very positive experience. They were all very encouraging including the 2 that I was most concerned about (very senior level). When I asked what skills or ways to approach learning, one of them started to explain how my experience fits with that. I know I'm on the right path at least.

Current management was a little surprised (cause my manager didn't inform them until day before my trip). They were supportive, though I still kept low profile. Visited with assistant in our group there and a former intern who's since graduated from college and now working full time for the firm. Monday will be interesting. Now just waiting, hope to know within next two weeks.

heading out of town again - finally!

Been over two months and getting a little stir crazy, finally time to leave Ohio again. Since wedding in Texas in February, been grounded here to get through some work stuff. Also been going through internal job application process at work, so waiting for that sorting out. So here are the latest plans:

This weekend: Tampa bay area for Aunt V's service and time with family.

Next week: day trip to Chicago for work interview (!!!)

Tentative plans for Baltimore area for family gathering to honor Uncle Bud

Still on target for end of June in DC/NoVa area with a possible additional visit in July/August.
