Realized I am totally drained and need to take some time to clear my head. Sort of a hard reboot. A pal at work suggested I take some away, probably by myself. Go to some cabin/resort place with a bunch of books and relax, look at water or some type of scenery. He thinks may be good time to think and decide on some direction.
I had done some travelling lately and did enjoy some time away, however he pointed out those trips were too quick and lots of activity, even if just hanging with other people. (He's a good pal and knows all about family stuff plus witness to the ridiculousness of my office) He suggested I take a week where there is little requirement to go anywhere unless I really want to. He suggested this place - though obviously I focus on the summer/spring photos. It's in Oregon - which I've never been. It is a bit far though and the trip back and forth may be tiring. I started researching B&Bs in driving distance, maybe West Virginia or even Michigan. Though maybe I want something warmer or completely different scenery. So here are some things to consider:
- Need place that could provide food and drink (including adult beverages of course) though like the option to do my own thing too.
- Unsure about going alone, though I think I could. Though would like the option to interact with people if I choose. (There are some folks I could travel with in a relaxed manner - though everyone's schedules and finances are not flexible these days)
- Driving distance is not a requirement - though probably want minimal travel hassel. If I fly want to limit connections, particulary if I have medium to long commute from airport to location.
- Like the idea of some place I've never been before though not required. All my travel plans this year (so far) are return trips.
- Probably should be in US, need to get my passport renewed.
- Timing - probably at this point earliest I could do this is June, after Memorial Day weekend
So welcome any suggestions, thoughts, recommendations - would really love your input!!
