Finally had a fit of spring cleaning, even though late July/ August. Finally bought file cabinet to get papers in order. Cleared out closet and donated 6 boxes of clothes. More to do, it's a good start. Took this weekend off a little bit. Definitly frees me up mentally and a little more productive at work.
More later my lovelies!

Tale of 2 movies
Saw two movies in a theatre which is so unusual! I used to go out almost every weekend to see something. Course had pals that liked the same. Sign of ageing? Anyhoo, made it to "SATC2" this on Tuesday with Mrs. A and then Sat. night saw "A-Team" with W. Now she lives closer easier to get her out. Didn't have high expectations for either really, had other reasons to go and unexpectedly enjoyed both.
SATC2 - sort of required viewing and good excuse for dinner & drinks with Mrs. A and catching up. Plus took next day off work, good break. Reviews are awful and deservedly so, though did have some nice moments. Enjoyed the show, which I realized was more for themes and writing. Last movie was a Louis Vuitton commercial, I love my LV, though not that much. Character of Carrie (SJP), I do find a little annoying and immature, though she did sort of grow up a bit in this one. Of course Char, Miranda and Samantha are fun in their own ways. Unrealistic of course and that's the point. Though have hard time believing that supposedly successful businesswoman like Samantha would behave so badly on trip paid by potential client. Fashion a little over the top, but it was eye candy. I am supportive of the idea of a gay wedding and of course Liza, couldn't they done better for the 2 main supporting characters who happen to be gay ? Almost an insult to the show story, they were friendly and very different, just cause they were the only 2 featured doesn't mean they must belong together.
A-Team - was intrigued by previews and decided wanted to see it. Watched some of the original show but wasn't die hard fan. I'll admit this was an eye candy selection also, the fabulous Mr. Neeson and adorable Mr. Cooper. My pal, W was swooning within the first ten minutes. I'm not always the biggest action fan, however this was fun. Movie didn't promise more than that and delivered. Also adorably comedic fun, Patrick Wilson and Brian Bloom (yes 80's teen soap actor who has writing credit?). Didn't know the other 2 main actors, Rampage and Sharlto Copley, very fun also. And a great cameo in the end, yummers. Stunts were ridiculous, it kept it's humor throughout and of course set up for sequels. Not award worthy, however for fun distraction it was perfect.

days later found poem for uncle
Some time, man or woman, traveller,
afterwards, when I am not alive,
look here, look for me here
between the stones and the ocean,
in the light storming
in the light foam.
Look here, look for me here,
for here is where I shall come, saying nothing,
no voice, no mouth, pure,
here I shall be again the movement
of the water, of
its wild heart,
here I shall be both lost and found -
here I shall be perhaps both stone and silence.

June awakening
I want to move & I want a new job, and frankly build a new life. What I have now is not working and I’m not happy. So I’ve decided that I must start preparing for those things so they will happen. It’s time to de-clutter both at home and work, finish some projects and escalate the job hunt. A new month, time for a new start. Since I’ve started some small changes and hopefully will keep progressing.
RESOLUTIONS:
- Clean up the apartment – want to move, should be ready to move. Will make location decisions based on job. Some key parts:
- I’m a reading addict and hard to resist a book. No new books into the house at least this month (if not longer)! I have plenty of reading to catch up on, plus can read a silly fluffy book in a few hours, should work on my aspirational reading. Also no new purchases of magazines outside house, I have subscriptions to 5 already.
- Clear out some more clothes and some linen. I have some extra sheet sets from when the ‘rents moved and no need really.
- Food – make better choices, start and maintain better habits
- Gave up caffeinated soda last week. Did have one over the weekend, however realized just because I had one, it doesn’t mean failure or I should give up. Plus made it through work days without it. Today chose fruit juice and water instead of even decaffeinated soda!
- Take daily vitamin each morning, keeping it by my bedside seems to work, first thing in the morning with:
- Eat breakfast each morning! I sort of do this already, however it’s not always good. Really focus is eating more during day and less during evening.
- Exercise – get moving and stay moving. Already have more energy by giving up soda and actually went to gym yesterday! Need to develop a routine eventually, yesterday was 12 minutes on bike & 25 minutes on treadmill without working ipod for last 10 minutes!
- Get out with people/ Be a better friend - really spend too much time on my own and haven’t been great about keeping in touch. I have some friends here, however no regular routines or meeting up. This will be tougher to conquer, plus given possibility of work not sure I’ll handle yet. I do have many things to celebrate this year and places to travel with good friends & family. Will focus on that and keeping in touch with my close ones who don’t live near me. Show some more appreciation for those dear ones (hopefully you know who you are!).
It’s a long post, and I’ll probably post more regularly to keep updated, plus keep myself in habit of writing. Appreciate all your good wishes and suggestions!

Productive weekend & start something new
Tomorrow I'll post my plans for the month. Need to make some changes and have started small. Went whole week without coca-cola, though did indulge in 1 this weekend. However I finally made it back to the gym! Accomplished my goals for the day, cleaned up a room, went to gym, took out trash and trip to store (target!).
Starting another decluttering project which should help. Will be heading to Baltimore next weekend for Uncle's funeral. Be great to see family, sister is making trip also, plus haven't seen Aunt E for at least 2 years.
It's been an odd day, very hot, then some weird storms, welcome summer!

not a day goes by
Found out yesterday that I didn’t get the job. Very disappointed, yet I did all I could do. Other candidate had different experience. Feedback from HR was all positive from my interviews which were a great experience. Least I’m out there and reconnected with folks. Plus day in Chicago was great, had good time with folks plus former intern.
Now I just keep plugging away, trying to find motivation to complete my existing projects. And looking, cause not a day goes by where I don’t find a reason to leave my existing team. Except I enjoy being able to pay some bills. Just past point of complaining though will still need to vent. Least now I can work on summer plans. Things have been on hold until this sorted out. So no moving for now, this was just too easy. Group may eventually expand, yet I won’t wait, just keep looking and possibly go outside the firm.
Trying to give up the soda again, or at least coca-cola. Need more energy and to lose weight so baby steps. Made it through yesterday and today and just keep trying.
